Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan is open to new members!

Ang Ilustrador ng Kabataan (Ang INK) , the Philippine’s first and only association of artists committed to the creation and promotion of illustrations for children, is open to new members! Requirements: 1. Accomplished application form.     2. One illustration based on "Sino Ako?" by Eugene Y. Evasco.   3. Announcing the International Book Giving Day Blog Hop!

We invite those of you with blogs to share stories of how you celebrate International Book Giving Day via our International Book Giving Day blog hop! International Book Giving Day is a volunteer initiative aimed at increasing children’s access to and enthusiasm for books. We are inviting people to celebrate International Book Giving Day on February 14 by 1. giving a book to a friend or family member, 2. leaving a book in a waiting room for children to read, or 3. donating a gently used book to a local library, hospital, shelter, or organization that distributes used books to children in need. One of the things that makes International Book Giving Day special is connecting with others from around the world who are giving books to kids. Press Release: The Ken Spillman and NBDCS AFCC Subsidy Once a year, participants come to the Asian Festival of Children’s Content (AFCC) in Singapore to meet and mingle with writers, illustrators, publishers, editors, and producers of excellent children ’s content. To assist Filipino children's book creators to access regional opportunities, Australian children’s author Ken Spillman has made available a grant of ten thousand pesos (P10,000.00) to help defray the expenses of attending the AFCC held annually in Singapore. To qualify, applicants must have published at least one full-length work for children or young adults. Evidence of the published work may take the form of a PDF file attached to the application or a link to the site where the work is sold. Applicants are also asked to submit a resumé and a maximum of 500 words explaining how attendance at the AFCC might be expected to contribute to the applicant’s development and profile as a writer. On Valentine's Day, I will be celebrating my love for books and children by participating in International Book Giving Day ! International Book Giving Day is a volunteer initiative aimed at increasing children’s access to and enthusiasm for books. You are invited to participate too by: 1. Giving a book to a friend or relative. Is there a child in your life who would enjoy receiving a book on February 14? In lieu of or in addition to a card or box of chocolates, choose a good book to give to your child, grandchild, friend, or neighbor. 2. Leaving a book in a waiting room or lobby. Choose a waiting room where kids are stuck waiting and there are few to no good books available. Purchase a good book and deposit your book covertly or overtly in your waiting room of choice. 3. Donating a book. Wrap up a box of children’s books that your kids have outgrown and get them into the hands of children who could really use a book or two. Donate your books to your local second ha
